Zooming Out

The astronaut lands back on earth.

And turns his life upside down.

That’s the story we expect.

But that’s not what happened.

What astronauts describe after the Overview Effect is not restlessness. Not rupture.

It’s awareness.

And gratitude – for everything that was already there.

Because from space, they saw something we easily forget down here:

  • How everything is interconnected.
  • How little truly divides us.
  • How fragile – and precious – this whole, Spaceship Earth, really is.

No urge to throw their lives away.

But a desire to live more intentionally.

And to take better care of what truly matters.

Zooming out doesn’t change what’s there. But it changes what you see.

What’s your favourite way to zoom out?
